Member Perks
House of Bloom artists have never and will never be expected to pay a membership fee or an application fee. All sales made during events belong 100% to the artists, and HoB will never take out a percentage.
Community support
Artists will be welcomed into a community that prioritizes growth and support. Artists in the collective are expected and encouraged to engage with and show up for one another in any aspect possible. With access to our artist-only forum, artists can ask for assistance or feedback on projects, find collaborators to work on a project, and connect through our drive to create. Each artist in the collective has their own strengths, connections, and experiences that are ready to be shared, making it easier to navigate the art world together rather than apart.
Continued showing of work
We do everything we can to continuously showcase our artists' work. We will send emails out quarterly to ask for images of any updated artwork. We'll use these to:
-
Have a printed, physical portfolio at every event containing artist sheets with images of your latest work and public info. Intended for attendees to flip through and discover you and our group.
-
Keep our website up to date with latest work by our artists
We will also occasionally repost any updated work on our stories, etc. If any potential clients or collectors come to us looking for work, we will always promote the artist(s) in the collective who fits the job/request.
Access to events, whenever you're available
With our consistently running events at Capitol Modern, there is always space for artists to reserve a spot and showcase their work live in the museum. Upon gaining membership, artists may sign up for whatever events can fit in their schedule, at a first come first serve basis.
Other HoB events will include invitations to art crit nights, where artists bring their latest works or works-in-progress for feedback. There are also occasional mixers/get-togethers to collaborate and connect.
Consistent updates of opportunities and projects
We are constantly working to improve our offerings and expand on what the collective can do for its artists and community. As an artist, you will receive updates on open opportunities.
The collective is a collaborative group, so artists will always have the freedom to make suggestions, create their own group projects with collective members, and come up with new ideas that could be beneficial for the group and the community.
Application Process
1 / Submit Your Interest
Use the form at the bottom of this page to send your interest in joining. The application is to join us for one of our live art showcases at Capitol Modern as a guest artist first.
2 / We'll Review
We are a small team, and are working artists just like you, but we will review your application as soon as we can!
We look for:
-
Artists working in a visual medium (yes–we are open to any art medium!)
-
Developed or developing artwork that shows some level of experience, voice, and dedication.
(we do accept beginning and emerging artists, but still prioritize an artistic standard. We love our hobby artists, and encourage everyone at all levels to create always! We are looking to work in more community events with more beginner artists in the future) -
Artists with some experience as a professional artist
(this is not a requirement, just something we keep a look out for)
We have no hard requirements, and are flexible. We encourage you to apply regardless of if you feel you fit in the above bullets. Imposter syndrome be gone!
3 / Check Your Email!
We will email you with an invitation to join as a guest artist. We will send open dates for you to choose from.
Once you've done your first event with us, we'll check in with you on how you liked it! If all goes well, you'll receive an official invitation to join our roster. Review the perks above for artists who are members on our roster.
